“I left Tokyo last night and came to Kanazawa by bus, then took a bus from Kanazawa to Shirakawa-go for a day trip to experience traditional village life.”

Creator's voice- Night bus from Tokyo to Kanazawa · ¥4000 — I took a very comfortable night bus from Tokyo to Kanazawa, arriving at 5 AM. It was a more affordable option than the train, costing 4,000 yen (around 1000-1100 Turkish Liras). The bus seats were equipped with privacy covers, like a 'stroller top', and a tripod for phones, allowing for undisturbed travel.
- Bus from Kanazawa to Shirakawa-go · ¥5600 — My round-trip ticket from Kanazawa to Shirakawa-go cost 5,600 yen (2,800 yen one way). The journey took 1 hour and 10 minutes, arriving earlier than the estimated time. The bus departed from stop number 4 at Kanazawa Station.

Creator's voice- Gassho-zukuri houses — These traditional houses have extremely steep, straw-thatched roofs, angled at 60 degrees. This design is crucial for shedding the heavy snow that falls here for much of the year, preventing accumulation and roof collapse. The straw roofs are thick and are collectively changed and renewed by the villagers at certain intervals, a tradition known as 'Yui'.
4Shirakawa-go Bus TerminalTransportation service · ShirakawaShirakawa-go Bus Terminal, 1086 Ogimachi, Shirakawa, Ono District, Gifu 501-5627, Japan- Free, spotless public toilets — Japan has free, spotless public toilets everywhere, even in remote areas like Shirakawa-go. They are well-stocked with toilet paper and often feature smart toilets with heated seats, which I loved. You can find one within minutes when needed.
