This mint chocolate ice cream is my newest addiction and the closest to Baskin Robbins. You can only get it at Family Mart! It's very minty, and I'd give it a 9.1 out of 10, deducting 0.9 because it could be greener for that artificial green color!

Modern Izakaya Date Night
Laura found this modern izakaya restaurant, perfect for dates or small friends gatherings, and she had already eaten there twice. Orders are taken via QR code, which is great for tourists. At most izakayas, there's a mandatory appetizer fee and each person must order one drink. All dishes are small plates designed for sharing and are very elegant. My favorite was the claypot rice, which reminded me of Hong Kong. Make a reservation if you're looking for something different to eat in Tokyo.

Early Dinner at Aidaya Tsukemen

We were first in line at Aidaya, a tsukemen shop we discovered last summer when we lived in Ueno, because it wasn't even 5:30pm yet! I recommend ordering the tsukemen with two dipping sauces and the sirloin rice. The beef is cooked in front of you sukiyaki style, and I've been thinking about this sirloin beef all year! While the beef is cooking, mix the egg. There are four dipping sauces (garlic, shrimp, pork bone seafood, and spicy dandan); you can choose two so you won't get tired of the flavors. By the time we left, the line was long.

Evening Date at a Taisho Style Cafe
Located right across Ueno Station, this Taisho style cafe has servers in maid uniforms and serves cake until 5 am. It blends Japanese and Western interiors, offering a charming atmosphere. Siphon coffee is served in Royal Copenhagen china, with a gentle flavor suitable for evening. The Shine Muscat grapes have a unique texture. It's a lovely evening date spot, though our experience was unfortunately interrupted by a baby throwing up nearby.
