I stayed the night in an amazing hotel room that's part of Nipponia Hotel, where they renovate old historical buildings into new hotel rooms. This project is quite sustainable because it preserves local townscapes and contributes to the local economy. They've opened 20 shops and have 28 hotel rooms, with more opening this year. It's been nominated to the Green Destination Top 100 Sustainable Destinations in the world.

Sleep like an ancient lord in Ozu Castle
As a symbolic project of the revitalization, you can actually do a castle stay here and sleep like ancient lords did. You can stay right here in the main castle and also in the castle turrets. This is my favorite place, so I'm going to show you around. The castle is a perfect reconstruction, meaning the interior and exterior are completely the same as the original, built without iron nails, just combined wood.
