“After arriving at Miyazaki Bougainvillea Airport, I headed to Aoshima Island. First, I had lunch at Minato Aoshima, then explored the island, including the Devil's Washboard and Aoshima Shrine.”

The vibrant red color of the lobster was amazing, and the sashimi itself was fresh and sweet. The slightly sweet sashimi soy sauce paired perfectly with both the sashimi and rice.
- Kampachi Sashimi — The kampachi sashimi was incredibly fresh and sweet, a testament to the high quality of the local fish.
- Katsuo Sashimi — The katsuo sashimi was also delicious, showcasing the excellent quality of the local catch.
- Ise Ebi Miso Soup — The miso soup came with a large Ise Ebi (spiny lobster) that had a surprising amount of meat. The plump lobster meat and the rich dashi from the shrimp made the miso soup absolutely delicious.

I have a personal rule that 'if the potato salad is good, all the dishes are good,' so I had high expectations for the rest of the meal.
- Miyazaki Specialty Charcoal-Grilled Momo-yaki · ¥980 — This Miyazaki specialty, charcoal-grilled chicken thigh, arrived sizzling. The aroma was incredible, and even before tasting, the chicken fat filled my mouth. The chicken was plump, tender, and perfectly grilled to bring out its sweetness and umami. Yuzu kosho (citrus pepper paste) paired very well with it.
- Cucumber Sticks — Cucumber sticks were served with the momo-yaki, which was a refreshing palate cleanser.
- Mehikari Karaage (Deep-fried Mehikari) — Another Miyazaki specialty, deep-fried mehikari (greeneye fish), was crispy and light, not oily at all, similar to white fish. It paired perfectly with shochu.
- Hyuga Kobiki Kuro Shochu (Rock) · ¥500 — A rock glass of Hyuga Kobiki Kuro shochu, a Miyazaki specialty, was the perfect accompaniment to the delicious food.
- Beef Skewers — The beef skewers were perfectly grilled and incredibly juicy and delicious. Despite the reasonable price, the meat was very tender.
- Chicken Nanban — Chicken Nanban, a Miyazaki specialty originating from Nobeoka City, was a personal favorite. The fried chicken was crispy, soaked in a sweet and sour tare sauce, and generously topped with tartar sauce. The combination was exquisite.

Miyazaki beef is renowned as the most delicious Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black cattle) in Japan, having won the Prime Minister's Award four consecutive times. The steak was served with potatoes, carrots, and broccoli, along with stylish silver plates of tare sauce, garlic chips, and wasabi. I prefer my meat well-done, so I pressed it onto the hot plate to get a nice sear.
- Miyazaki Red Wine — This red wine is made from local Miyazaki grapes (Tono) and is internationally recognized as a delicious wine, having been selected twice among the world's top 100 wines. It paired perfectly with the Miyazaki beef.
- Miyazaki Beef Nigiri Sushi — The Miyazaki beef nigiri sushi was a fantastic way to end the meal. I love both fish and meat sushi, and this was a great treat. The generous amount of tare sauce made it absolutely delicious.
