I took a morning walk in Oshino Hakkai, finding a quiet spot away from the crowds. The water here is incredibly beautiful and makes you feel calm. It's a perfect place to relax and soak in the serene atmosphere, especially before it gets too busy. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom all around, which I can't wait to see someday!

I walked further into Oshino Hakkai and found a big thatched house, which is the oldest still standing in Oshino Village. It's now open as a museum, displaying important documents, furniture, and tools from that era. You can even go upstairs to see a room that was used for cultivating silkworms. It's a fascinating glimpse into local history.

After exploring, I was hungry and ready to enjoy the food of Oshino Hakkai. There were so many delicious options, it was hard to decide! I tried something plump and rich in flavor, which was absolutely delicious. I also tried some takoyaki, but I wouldn't really recommend it. However, the mochi, with its various slightly sweet flavors and chewy texture, was incredibly tasty. Don't forget to check out the cute souvenirs too!

I took a walk around Lake Yamanaka, known as 'Swan Lake,' and was amazed by the number of swans gathered there. It felt great to be by the lake. I bought some feed and started feeding them; they slowly came closer, targeting the feed! It was a lovely, interactive experience, even giving some to the little ones.

I came here for a late lunch at a restaurant by Lake Yamanaka, which seems to be visited by many famous people. It has a relaxing space. I tried 'Hoto,' a typical local dish of Yamanashi Prefecture, and it was even more delicious than I imagined! The smelt was also bitter and delicious. It was a very filling and satisfying meal.

I walked the approach to the shrine, surrounded by a cedar forest with stone lanterns lining both sides. I can't quite describe it, but I felt a very sacred power here. This shrine has a history of over 1900 years and, like Oshino Hakkai, is a constituent asset of Mt. Fuji, a World Heritage Site. I cleansed my hands with the cold meltwater from Mt. Fuji and worshipped. There's also a sacred cedar tree over 1000 years old. At the back of the shrine grounds, there's a historic mountain trail that ancient people used to climb Mt. Fuji, which makes me want to try climbing it myself someday!
