I Survived 24 Hours in Japan's COLDEST Town

We decided to stay the night at a sprawling traditional inn right on the shores of the frozen Lake Akan. The room is absolutely spectacular, significantly larger than almost any other ryokan I've been in. It features a cavernous corridor, multiple rooms, an audio-visual room, a massage chair, and even a private outdoor onsen. It's a paradise, especially when it's -20 degrees Celsius outside, keeping your bottom half toasty at 42 degrees while the top half gets frostbite.

We held an elaborate one-on-one rap battle on the train tracks of Rikubetsu Station, which is shut for many months of the year and covered in two feet of snow. The challenge was to write a rap in 24 hours, with the loser having to remove their shirt and roll around in the snow. It was a scorcher, with both rappers bringing fire, but ultimately, the loser had to endure the freezing punishment.
