We came to this restaurant, famous for its shijimi clam bowls, which are a Shimane specialty. The menu also has wagyu steak bowls, but the shijimi bowl was highly recommended. It's a cozy place with a nice, slightly retro Showa-era vibe. The shijimi clams are from Lake Shinji, and the rice is also a Shimane specialty. It's so delicious and light, I could eat it endlessly! It's perfect for your liver, especially after a night out. I even thought about trying to make it at home to impress my boyfriend.

We arrived at Yaegaki Shrine, known as a god of matchmaking. It's said to be the place where the first couple in ancient Japan, two gods, were enshrined. I did some research beforehand! The highlight is the 'Mirror Pond' fortune-telling. You float a piece of paper with a coin on it, and if it sinks quickly, your wish will come true soon. Mine said 'Stay as you are,' which made me so happy! It felt like a message that my path was correct. We also bought charms for beauty and matchmaking.

We arrived at Adachi Museum of Art, a place I really wanted to visit, known as a highlight of Shimane. Even on a weekday, there were quite a few people. Inside, I was most moved by the 'living scroll' — the windows are framed like hanging scrolls, revealing a breathtakingly beautiful garden that spreads out like a painting. It truly felt like a natural, living artwork. My boyfriend also loved the Japanese aesthetic here.
