They also make shochu. I was offered a small tasting portion, which was very kind.
- Ise-chan (Spiny Lobster) — Fresh spiny lobster available at the seafood direct sales market within the port complex.
- Namako (Sea Cucumber) · ¥150/100g — Sea cucumber, priced at 150 yen per 100g, also available at the seafood market.
- Jakoten (Fried Fish Paste) — A local specialty, fried fish paste, often sold as 'Jakokatsu' (jakoten cutlet). Many souvenir shops in the area sell it.
- Electric-assist bicycle rental · ¥500/4h — Rented an electric-assist bicycle from Hanamisaki at Misaki Port for 500 yen for 4 hours. The flat saddle and 100% charged battery made the 15km ride to the lighthouse surprisingly easy, despite the distance.
- Kyushu Ferry ticket · ¥1240 — A one-way ticket from Misaki Port to Saganoseki in Oita, Kyushu, costing 1240 yen. The journey takes 70 minutes.

4Sadamisaki LighthouseScenic spot · Ikata4.5 (728)ClosedSadamisaki Lighthouse, 2935 Shono, Ikata, Nishiuwa District, Ehime 796-0823, Japan- Green Schist — A distinctive geological feature of the Sadamisaki Peninsula, especially visible along the walking path to the lighthouse. These green-colored metamorphic rocks are part of the 'Sanbagawa Metamorphic Belt,' formed when the 'Outer Zone' of Japan collided with the Eurasian continent. Unlike the more eroded 'Inner Zone,' these rocks show less erosion, resulting in the peninsula's rugged, mountainous terrain.
- Searchlight Storage (Tanshotou Kakunouko) — Two concrete structures, large and small, built during WWII to store searchlights (tanshotou). These searchlights were used in conjunction with the lighthouse to illuminate suspicious ships and aircraft at night. Originally, rails were laid around the structures to move the searchlights. The top of the structures was covered with soil and vegetation for camouflage against aerial observation.
- Oil Storage — A small warehouse built in 1953, originally used to store oil for the lighthouse.
5Mishima IslandIsland · Hagi3.9Mishima Island, Mishima, Hagi, Yamaguchi 758-0701, Japan- Chuko-no-hi Monument — A stone monument commemorating the tragic history of the artillery battery. During firing drills in WWII, an explosion occurred, killing 14-16 soldiers. The monument serves as a reminder of this sad event.
- Baoike (Fish Farm Pond) — A large artificial pond constructed after WWII, connecting Mishima Island to the mainland. It was originally used as a massive fish farm for shrimp and crabs until around 2010. It remains connected to the sea, and wild fish can still be seen swimming there.
- Cave-style Artillery Battery Ruins — The ruins of a WWII artillery battery, featuring tunnels leading to gun emplacements facing the sea. The hard rock walls provided a stable base for the cannons and protection from aerial attacks. The Ikata Town government has invested in preserving and making these ruins accessible for visitors. The cannons were originally ordered from a German company during the Russo-Japanese War and later brought to this site.
