Taste Aomori's Famous Miso Curry Milk Ramen

Head to Aji no Sapporo Onishi for their unique Miso Curry Milk Ramen. This dish is a tantalizing blend of creamy, silky-rich broth with a slight kick of curry spice. It's a breakfast ramen for me, and it's surprisingly delicious, especially after a big meal the day before. The butter on top melts throughout, making it even creamier. The noodles are curly egg noodles, not typical ramen noodles, and they're interesting. It gets ridiculously busy, so get there early – I arrived at 11:05 AM, just after opening, and it was already a battle for seats. Don't worry about the spice; it's subtle, not really spicy at all. The bean sprouts add a refreshing balance to the richness.

Paint Your Own Kokeshi Doll

Take on the challenge of mastering a Japanese craft by painting your own Kokeshi doll at the Tsugaru Traditional Craft Center. You'll get a blank wooden canvas and can try to paint intricate faces and features. It's a fun, if challenging, experience to desecrate the fine art of Kokeshi, which were traditionally children's toys. I tried to paint Charlotte, and she painted me – the results were… unique. The teacher was very generous, saying both were 'pretty good' and 'A for effort.' It's a really fun activity, and you learn a lot about how not to paint a Kokeshi doll!
