We made it to Uji, the matcha capital of the world, so of course we had to get some matcha! I went to Nakamura Tokichi, literally the first store out of Uji station. I wish I did more extensive research, but I'm not super picky, so anything will be good here. After matcha, I walked to a soba noodle spot.

Encountering Nara's Wild Deer

The deer in Nara Park are so warm and friendly! They'll come right up to you, especially if you have deer crackers. Be careful though, one of them actually took a part of my bag and their teeth are sharp!

Solo Ramen Booth Experience

This place is an introvert's dream! You order at a little kiosk, get seated in your individual booth, and they hand you everything through a curtain. The broth is not too thick or creamy, and you can customize it to be more clear or rich. I went with the standard in the middle, and it was super good. Don't forget to add an egg!

Climbing Fushimi Inari for Crowd-Free Photos

We climbed up to the summit of Fushimi Inari, which involves a lot of stairs. Pro tip: if you want nice Instagram photos clear of crowds, you've got to keep walking to the summit. The crowds will clear out the further you go up. I was trying really hard to keep my heart rate at a normal pace, but it's worth it for the views and the quiet.
