My Crappy Morning Routine
My morning routine is awful, not like those Instagrammers doing yoga and writing haikus. I just sit here, slowly sipping iced coffee, eating muesli, and looking at the wall, intermittently thinking 'I hate myself.' I shouldn't feel guilty for that; it's just a crappy morning routine.
- Iced coffee — My go-to morning drink, slowly sipped from a jug. It's part of my 'crappy morning routine' but gets me through the start of the day.
- Muesli — A healthy breakfast option, though the 'Red Temptation' flavor sounds like something else entirely. It's what I eat while staring at the wall in the mornings.

Daily Walk and Exploring Tokyo's Quiet Side
Every morning, before I sit and stare at a screen for hours, I get out and walk for about an hour, aiming for 10,000 steps. I try to spend an hour exploring somewhere new each day, finding quiet moments of calm in residential neighborhoods, even stumbling upon a graveyard with awesome Jesus statues. It's a great way to see a different side of Tokyo, away from the chaos of Shibuya.

Cooking Chicken and Camembert Dinner
I'm treating Charlotte to a special dinner cooked by me: chicken and Camembert, a meal I used to have four nights a week as a teacher. It's the perfect combination, washed down with some 'cow piss water' (cultured milk drink) and finished with Yamagata cherries. Just remember to cook the chicken thoroughly, unlike some places in Japan that eat it raw, which I find horrific.
- Chicken and Camembert — My signature dish, a simple yet perfect combination I used to cook frequently. It's a hearty meal, especially when paired with a good Camembert from Hokkaido. Charlotte rated it a 7/10, which I think is unfair for such a 'luxury gourmet chicken.'
- Cultured milk drink — Affectionately called 'cow piss water,' this refreshing blend of sweet and tangy cultured milk has been around since 1919. It's a delicious drink to accompany dinner.
- Yamagata cherries · ¥2980 — The finest cherries in the world, from Yamagata, costing ¥2980. They are perfectly meticulous, very sweet, with a thick skin, fleshy, juicy, and almost a crunch to them. Despite being overpriced and finding a few moldy ones, I like to support Yamagata for this famous product.

Night Photography in Shinjuku
I had a last-minute change of heart and decided to film in Shinjuku instead of Shibuya. Shinjuku has the edge for a nighttime shoot with its 'wild factor' and caters to an older crowd like me. I'm testing out my new Sony 135mm 1.8 lens to capture the essence of Shinjuku at night, from its towering skyscrapers and neon signs to the nostalgic alleys of Omoide Yokocho and the unique bars of Golden Gai.

Surfing at Kamakura Beach
I never thought I'd be surfing, especially not in Tokyo, but after a bad health report last year, I've been trying new things. Kamakura Beach has a really good atmosphere; everyone's chill, and it's one of the few places along the Japanese coastline where you find people relaxing and surfing. I'm not good at it, but I enjoy it – it's like swimming with purpose. Just watch out for the big waves and the shark fin-shaped rock that looks like a Megalodon!

It's also known as 'Piss Alley,' but it smells fine, like barbecue. It's a nostalgic spot, especially for those who first experienced Tokyo here.
