I SLEPT in Britain's Most Haunted Prison Vs. Church | Feat. @CDawgVA & @TheAnimeMan

I finally caved in and went camping, but not just anywhere – inside an unsettling 700-year-old church! It's St Mary's Church, dating back to the 13th century and featured in Charles Dickens' 'Great Expectations'. For just £100 a night, you can camp in and freely explore this formally closed church. It gets incredibly cold, so they even provide hot water bottles. While it's not the comfiest, sleeping on the floor of a church, it's an amazing and really cool historical experience. We even found some old video games inside, though no console to play them on. As night falls, the creepy vibes intensify, especially in the vestry with its seashell decor. We set up a GoPro to see if anything paranormal happens, and weirdly, one of our fully charged portable lights started playing up. Waking up in front of the pulpit and cross is jarring, and I heard weird creaking noises throughout the night. It's an interesting experience, especially for history buffs, but I don't think I'd do it again.

I arranged for us to stay inside Britain's most haunted prison, Shepton Mallet Prison, sleeping in the most degraded cell possible. It's the oldest prison in the UK, opening in 1625, and has a reputation for brutal conditions and paranormal activity. For £70 a night, you can reserve a cell. Our cell, number 8, was particularly disturbing as it was where someone tragically took their own life. The cell itself is unpleasant, with one single steel-frame bed, a tiny window, a sink, and a busted toilet that you're not allowed to use – you have to use communal toilets. The bed is incredibly uncomfortable, with holes that make you feel every part of your body sinking in; the floor is actually better. I managed to get a mattress from the staff, but it was still a hard, soiled mattress. Exploring the four cavernous wings at night is terrifying, especially the wing rumored to be the most haunted. Every tiny sound puts you on edge. We learned about the 'White Lady,' a ghostly woman in a wedding dress who haunts the corridors. We also found a hidden 1600s cell through a hole in the wall, which was incredibly creepy. This was easily one of the worst nights of my life; I barely slept due to the discomfort and the unsettling atmosphere. I vow never to go to prison again.
