I was confident it would be on the top 10 list, but it wasn't!
- Salmon Mozzarella with Basil Sauce — A unique combination of salmon sashimi topped with mozzarella cheese and a basil sauce. It's a perfect marriage of flavors, and surprisingly, it wasn't on the top 10 list either.
- Maguro (Basic Tuna) — The basic tuna, a classic choice. This one was number one on Sushiro's top 10 list!
- Hamachi (Yellowtail) — Beautiful, translucent yellowtail with lovely pink and white colors. It's an artistic fish, and it landed at number two on the top 10 list.
- Chopped Tuna — Finely chopped tuna, so smooth and creamy, almost like whipped cream. It's incredibly fresh and hearty. This one didn't make the top 10 list.
- Nama Salmon (Raw Salmon) — A premium, raw salmon with a big cut, offering two portions. It's incredibly fresh and a hearty mouthful. This one also didn't make the top 10 list.
- Shrimp Tempura Sushi — Golden, crispy battered shrimp tempura on sushi. If you're new to Japanese food and want something familiar, this tastes a bit like fish and chips. It ranked number three on the top 10 list.
- Shrimp with Avocado and Onion Mayonnaise — Sweet shrimp combined with creamy avocado and onion mayonnaise on top. The avocado works like butter, creating a very smooth flavor with the shrimp. This dish was number seven on the top 10 list.
- Tamagoyaki (Japanese Omelet) — A Japanese omelet, rolled over and over to create layers. Unlike Western omelets, it has a distinct sweetness from fish stock and sugar, along with Umami flavor. It's a comforting dish many Japanese grew up with. This one didn't make the top 10 list.
- Grilled Conger Eel (Anago) — Grilled conger eel with a special sweet sauce. The meat is very soft, with a distinct smoked flavor from grilling. Conger eels are caught in the sea, unlike unagi (river eels). This dish was number five on the top 10 list.
- Otoro (Super Fatty Tuna) · ¥300+ — The most expensive and fattiest cut of tuna, served on a black plate. It's incredibly beautiful and one of the best dishes, but its high price might deter some. Surprisingly, it didn't make the top 10 list.
- Squid (Ika) — Squid sushi, which is soft and chewy. This one also didn't make the top 10 list.
- Chopped Tuna with Pickled Radish — Chopped tuna paired with pickled radish, creating a fantastic color and flavor combination. This dish was number four on the top 10 list.
- Flame-Grilled Salmon with Melted Cheese — Salmon with melted cheese, flame-grilled on top. The cheese and mayonnaise enhance the salmon's flavor. This dish was number six on the top 10 list.
- French Fries — A side dish of french fries. Surprisingly, this unoriginal choice was number two on the side dish list.
- Tempura Udon — Golden tempura served with udon noodles, with steam rising from the bowl. You can never have too much tempura! This side dish didn't make the top 3 list.
- Tuna Mayonnaise Sushi — Tuna mayonnaise sushi, a popular choice. This was number one on the side dish list.
- Mackerel (Saba) — A meaty, flavorful, and rich mackerel sushi. It's a dish I always order. This one didn't make the top 10 list.
- Hamburger Sushi — A tasty, juicy hamburger drizzled in sauce, served on sushi. It's a good, hearty size, unlike the small slivers found at some other kaiten sushi restaurants. This one didn't make the top 10 list.
- Sweet Shrimp (Amaebi) — One of the most popular dishes, very fresh, as if it just came out of the sea. It's naturally sweet, not from added sugar. This one didn't make the top 10 list.
- Pudding — A favorite dessert, with a satisfying texture when sliced with a spoon. This dessert didn't make the top 3 side dish list.
- Strawberry Parfait — A massive strawberry parfait, packed with calories. This dessert was number one on the side dish list.
- Tuna Set (Otoro, Chutoro, Akami) · ¥1200 — My secret weapon: a set featuring Otoro, Chutoro, and Akami (all cuts of tuna). It's excellent value for money, costing about 1200 yen (around $10). This set was number five on the top 10 list.
- Salmon Sushi — An ordinary salmon sushi. This one didn't make the top 10 list.
- Shrimp with Cheese and Mayonnaise — Shrimp topped with cheese and a dab of mayonnaise. Adding cheese always makes things good! This one didn't make the top 10 list.
- Chawanmushi (Steamed Egg Custard) — A savory steamed egg custard with chicken inside, similar to a steamed scrambled egg. This was number one on the side dish list.
- Pumpkin Tempura — Crispy pumpkin tempura, offering a satisfying sweetness from the pumpkin and saltiness from the batter. It was one of the best dishes of the day for me. This was number three on the side dish list.
- Custard Ice Cream — A really thick custard ice cream. This dessert was number one on the side dish list.
- Steamed Shrimp — A simple steamed shrimp sushi. This was number eight on the top 10 list.
- Ikura (Salmon Roe with Cucumber) — Salmon roe fish eggs with cucumber. This was number nine on the top 10 list.
- Raw Pink Shrimp — Raw pink shrimp sushi. This was number ten on the top 10 list.
