Volunteer to do some groundwork at Shurijo Castle, which is undergoing a massive reconstruction project after a fire. You might not help much, but it's incredible to see the scale of the rebuilding efforts, aiming to be done by 2026. We got special access to look inside the main hall, wearing cool helmets, and saw the timber work up close. It's a huge project, even requiring new roads for construction.

Frog Chorus in the Rain
Listen closely in the evening, especially after rain, and you might hear an incredibly loud chorus of frogs. They're hiding in the sewers, but they go silent as soon as you approach. It's a shame the rain canceled stargazing, but this was a unique first-day experience.
