This is literally sleeping in a museum, created by the famous architect Tadao Ando. The hotel is separated into four areas that accompany a spectacular contemporary art museum and is surrounded by two others by the same architect. Corridors, gardens, and surroundings are covered with striking works of art. Rooms have art instead of TV, coffee is served peculiarly, and Q-tips have original forms. You can enjoy a very expensive 25-dish dinner. The museum is open until 11 PM for guests only. There's even an area with the most expensive rooms reserved for guests, though my budget didn't allow me to experience those.

This is the most famous piece on Naoshima, having become its symbol. It's a very popular spot for photos, so I got up very early to find it empty. Normally, there's a long line of people waiting to take a picture with it.

There are two Yayoi Kusama pumpkins on the island, and they've become the symbol of Naoshima. You'll see dots from the pumpkins everywhere, on the ferry, buses, and even bicycles.

This is the second of three museums in the south of the island, all designed by Tadao Ando. It's dedicated entirely to the work of Korean artist Lee Ufan. The only place where photos were allowed was in the bathroom, but it's still impressive.

My favorite of the museums, 'Chichu' means 'buried,' and the museum is literally underground. It's a marvel of architecture, and its collection, though reduced, is truly spectacular. It's incredible, but they don't allow photos inside, and they check you. The experience here is very different from what I've experienced before.

This isn't just a bar, it's an onsen that's also a work of art. Everything is full of very original and funny art and design. Uniquely, people with tattoos are allowed to enter here, which is rare in Japan where tattoos are often disliked in public baths. There's even an elephant inside! Obviously, photos aren't allowed as everyone is naked, but it's a fantastic alternative for tattooed visitors.

This museum is very cool and incredible. It's like a huge capsule shaped like a giant drop of water, truly spectacular. What's impressive, besides the otherworldly structure, is that the floor has a series of almost invisible holes from which small amounts of water emerge. The floor has a non-stick treatment, so the water behaves like mercury, creating very interesting formations. Everyone is silent inside, it's truly spectacular. Unfortunately, you can't take pictures inside, especially in the bubble.

This small museum is very interesting and nice, but they don't allow photos. I'm disappointed that I even forgot its name, but it's very close to the port. It's a pity I couldn't show you more in depth, but I hope it serves as an invitation for you to visit if you come to Japan.
