Ride the Oigawa Railway to an Unexplored Station
I embarked on a train journey from Senzu Station on the Oigawa Railway, heading to Okuoi Kojo Station, which is known as a 'hidden station' in Japan. I purposely chose to ride in the very last car to enjoy the stunning views of the emerald green lake and fresh greenery. The scenery quickly transforms into a mountain railway, passing by beautiful Japanese tea plantations and long suspension bridges. Many of the stations along the way are unmanned, adding to the sense of being somewhere truly off the beaten path. The river's color becomes incredibly vivid as you get deeper into the mountains. At Abt Ichishiro Station, an Abt type electric locomotive connects, as the section to the next station has the steepest gradient of any railway line in Japan, and this is the only place in Japan where these trains run. The Nagashima Dam is also an impressive sight along the way. It's an irresistible feeling of excitement to be on this unique journey!

From this vantage point, the station truly looks like a small island floating on the lake, offering an absolutely stunning view. It's a must-see perspective to fully appreciate the station's unique location.
