Make your own pottery tea bowl
I decided to try making my own tea bowl at the Hokuto-Gama pottery workshop! It's a hands-on process where you press the clay onto a wheel, make a hole with your thumb, and then shape and flatten the rim. It's a fun and rewarding experience to create your own unique piece.

Wanko Soba eating challenge
I came to Azumaya Honten to take on the Wanko Soba challenge! They say you can eat up to 100 bowls, and someone even finished 570! Each small bowl is served one after another by a server, and you keep eating until you can't anymore, then quickly cover your bowl to signal you're done. I only managed 40 bowls, but every participant receives a certificate, and tourists get a special plaque even if they don't reach 100 bowls. It's a fun and unique dining experience!
- Wanko Soba — Small bowls of soba noodles served continuously as part of an eating challenge. 15 small bowls are equivalent to one regular bowl of soba. The noodles are Muslim-friendly at this specific branch.
- Wanko Soba certificate and plaque — Participants in the Wanko Soba challenge receive a certificate, and tourists get a special plaque, even if they don't reach the 100-bowl milestone.
