It includes a small private onsen, though the creator found it difficult to use without splashing water. The creator noted that a friend's classic room with normal lounger chairs might be better for those with bad knees.
- Private onsen — A small private onsen bath available in the classic suite, offering beautiful views. The creator found it difficult to shower before entering without getting water into the onsen.
- Outdoor onsen — The outdoor onsen was an absolute highlight, described as wonderful with soothing, hot, and very soft mineral water. Soaking with your head in the cold air while watching snow fall is an absolutely magical experience.
- Electric bicycle rental · ¥1100 — Rented an electric bicycle for 1100 yen for a half-day. It's a great way to explore the surrounding area, including the Uono River, rice fields, and Zenibuchi Park.
- Free-flow sake and umeshu — Enjoyed free-flow sake and umeshu (plum wine) from 5-7 pm at the bar/lounge. This is a great idea, and the big, comfortable sofas with a view are wonderful.
- Gastronomy dinner menu — A gastronomy dinner menu featuring fresh ingredients, including mushrooms in creamy sauce, a wonderfully light fish carpaccio, and a delicious A5 Wagyu beef steak. The creator wore yukatas for dinner and enjoyed Japanese red wine.
- A5 Wagyu Beef — This A5 Wagyu Beef was absolutely delicious, a highlight of the gastronomy dinner menu.
- Koshihikari rice — Niigata is famous for its rice, and the Koshihikari rice served has a perfect balance. It was served with Kenchin vegetables soup and furikake of dried sardines.
- Desserts and tea — Finished off the dinner with delicious desserts and tea.
- Scrumptious breakfast — A scrumptious breakfast served the next morning, featuring a variety of dishes including a hot pot with vegetables and mushrooms, and delectable cookies.
- Short cooking class — A fun short cooking class with the 'grandma' was very much enjoyed, demonstrating communication without a common language. A great idea to use wooden used chopsticks as fire material.
- The Hermitage House — A specific room type or section of Ryugon Ryokan, offering views of the snow-covered surroundings.
- Villa Suite — A spacious villa suite at Ryugon in Muikamachi, featuring modern design with large windows overlooking a pond and lush greenery, and a private outdoor soaking tub.
