Steam-cooking your own meal at Jigokumushikobo Kannawa
This self-service restaurant is where you get to steam your own food using the natural geothermal heat of Beppu's hot springs. First, choose your ingredients (we got beef, pork, fresh noodles, and various vegetables), pay at the machine (which even translates Japanese instructions into Thai!), and you'll receive cards for each tray. Then, with help from the staff, place your chosen trays into the steam pots. Each pot can hold about three trays. Once cooked, retrieve your healthy, flavorful meal. This spot is highly-rated in Beppu for a reason!
