Dine at Din Tai Fung, where it all began
Even though we have Din Tai Fung in New York, I have been waiting to try it in Taipei since this is where it originally started. And let me tell you, it's worth every ounce of hype it gets, especially given the fact that what would have cost us almost $80 a person in New York was less than $35 here.

Hike Elephant Mountain for City Views
Taipei has some of the easiest access to nature right from the city center, so the next morning I hiked up Elephant Mountain. It's essentially a stairmaster the whole way up, but after about 20 minutes of climbing, you're rewarded with perfect views of the city skyline. There are plenty of different trails and viewpoints to explore once you're up here.

When I tell you I had at least three bubble teas a day, I'm not kidding! Not only did it originate in Taiwan, but my walking tour guide showed us the best spot: 50 Lan. As a certified tea lover, I could not get enough.
