Mount Yoshino in Nara is one of Japan's oldest and most famous cherry blossom viewing spots, revered for approximately 1,300 years as a sacred mountain. It is home to about 30,000 Shiro-yama cherry trees that blanket the mountainside, blooming gradually across four distinct areas (lower, middle, upper, and inner) over about a month. It's a truly spectacular sight when the mountain is covered in pink.
