🌋♨️ Buried in volcanic sand… and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. 🇯🇵 📍 Ibusuki Sand Baths, Kagosh

Come to Ibusuki and experience a traditional sand bath, where naturally heated volcanic sand is gently poured over your body while you lie on the beach. You're given a light kimono to wear (nothing underneath), and then covered in warm sand up to your neck. It sounds intense, but it's actually incredibly relaxing. The heat slowly builds, and you can literally feel your body unwinding. After the sand bath, head into the separate communal thermal bath areas (men and women divided) to soak and rinse before returning to the changing rooms. I left feeling lighter, calmer, and completely reset. It's an unforgettable experience and one I'd absolutely recommend if you're visiting Kagoshima. Note: No tattoos allowed, and no photos of the actual sand bath experience for privacy reasons.
