I left my hotel before sunrise, around 4:45 AM, to experience the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest in complete peace. It was so worth it! I took public transportation, which was easy to navigate with Google Maps. There were no crowds, no noise, just the sound of bamboo swaying and the soft morning light hitting the path. I even caught the sunrise, which is my favorite view in the world after sunset. If you're visiting Kyoto, this needs to be at the top of your list. Go early, breathe it in, and let the magic find you.
