Handcraft your own unique chopsticks
- Sakura wood — I chose Sakura wood for my chopsticks, known for its unique color and grain. It's one of several options available, each with different characteristics.
- Hand plane — You use a traditional hand plane to shave the wood, shaping your chopsticks. It's a hands-on and satisfying part of the crafting process.
- Sanding paper — After shaping, you use sanding paper to smooth and polish the chopsticks until they are comfortable to hold.
- Laser engraver — A laser engraver is used to personalize your chopsticks with your chosen design or initials, making them truly one-of-a-kind. I added my initials 'GC' and the date '8 1 26'.
- Personalized chopsticks — The finished product: a unique pair of chopsticks you crafted yourself, personalized with your initials and the date. It's a memorable souvenir and a testament to learning Japanese craftsmanship.
