On our first day in Takayama, we stumbled upon sake vending machines in the historic Sanmachi district and knew we had to try them! At Funasaka Sake Brewery, you first buy a tasting cup, then exchange money for tokens. After that, you can use your tokens to sample different local sakes from the various dispensers. It was such a fun and memorable way to experience Takayama, a quick stop that became one of our favorite memories from the trip.
