Getting stuck in Fushimi Inari's trails after dark
POV: it's getting dark but you're still stuck inside the endless trails of Fushimi Inari. I bumped into wild boars that can potentially be aggressive at any given time, tripped over the uneven steep stairs along the trail due to poor lighting, and felt like someone was watching behind my back when visiting some of the smaller altars on top of the hill. It felt like getting lost in a different realm because the gods have returned to their slumber and there’s no one protecting you from the evil spirits or yokai. Thank goodness I made it out alive, but the boars were fascinating to watch!
