1Yugen Kyoto Shijo- Spacious room — The room was stunning, clean, and spacious, with plenty of room for three people. It features a modern take on a traditional ryokan style, making it a comfortable and authentic experience.
- Hotel onsen — The hotel offers an onsen that felt like a private experience, with never more than one or two other women present. It was used every night, making the in-room shower barely necessary.
- Toiletries — The hotel provides an amazing amount of toiletries, ensuring guests have everything they need for their stay.
- Welcome snacks and drinks — The room came with a thoughtful box of candy and snacks, a Keurig with coffee and teas, and included beverages in the mini-fridge.
- Japanese bento box breakfast — For the first breakfast, we chose the Japanese bento box option, which was delivered to the room at a chosen time. It was the fanciest bento box I've ever had, with a self-heating feature that warms up the meal in 10 minutes by pulling a string. It was an amazing and memorable meal.
- Western-style breakfast buffet — The hotel also offers a Western-style breakfast buffet by the lobby. While good, I honestly preferred the bento box room service.
