A small, beautiful sub-temple in Kyoto, founded in 1550, located a seven-minute walk northeast of Tofukuji Temple. It's dedicated to Bishamonten, the guardian of Buddha and the direction of north. This temple is a hidden gem, especially beautiful during the spring and fall seasons, and often has very few visitors. The entrance fee is ¥800.

- Autumn Garden — Shorinji is famous for its beautiful garden, especially during the autumn season when the maple leaves turn vibrant red and orange. It's a serene place to enjoy the fall foliage without the crowds.
