1Gion Oyado Kikutani Inn- Shoe locker — As is customary in Kyoto Ryokans, you take off your shoes upon entry and can store them in these individual shoe lockers. They provide house shoes, or you can walk around in your socks. Note to self: bring extra socks for your trip!
- Traditional Japanese room — I was stunned by this room; it's everything I've ever wanted! It features traditional window paneling, two comfortable beds, a small couch, and a table that I used for my luggage and planning outfits. The beds were really comfortable, though the pillows were a little soft for my taste.
- Room view — Each room comes with a view of traditional Japanese rooftops and greenery. It's so cute, I feel like I'm in The Karate Kid or something!
- Bathroom with private onsen — I cannot stress how impressed I was with the bathroom. It features a little seat to sit down, which I love, and a private onsen with a heated tub. There's also a bath stool for showering, just like they do in the onsens. You also get a little view outside, which is great.
- Toto toilet — Behold the toilet of my dreams! A Toto toilet with all the buttons, and a nice little dry rack for your laundry, because I always do laundry in my room.
- Outdoor garden area — The hotel also has a beautiful outdoor garden area between the kitchen, eating area, and more rooms. You get a little taste of outside and nature, which I think is beautiful.
- Breakfast dining area — This is the area where you eat breakfast in the morning. They make miso soup and omelets.
